- I like being with my wife and my family, whether we’re traveling, gathering for holiday celebrations, or just hanging out. My wife is my very favorite person, and the rest of them are pretty amazing, too.
- I enjoy being outdoors: on hiking trails, on biking paths, fishing at a lake, walking through the neighborhoods near my home, and sometimes in faraway places.
- I’m a nerd, so I like to build and repair electronic things. I’m a licensed radio amateur who builds and repairs his own gear, and solder smoke is like incense to me.
- I like to make music with a variety of instruments, especially with other musicians. (Music is one of the many languages spoken in heaven.)
- I like to read and to write, which are technically two separate things, but for me they go hand-in-hand, one influencing, enriching, and leading to the other.
There are many other things that could be on this list (woodworking, language learning, audio recording, coding, building and flying model rockets with my grandchildren, enjoying coffee (or a beer, or the occasional cigar) with friends, and more) but the prompt said “five,” and I do my best to follow the rules.
